Symbolic Still Life
In this project fifth grade students were challenged to:
1. Discuss symbolism represented in 17th century Dutch paintings.
2. Write about their interpretation of symbolism in a painting.
3. Collect objects that have personal meaning to them and represent them in a still life drawing.
4. Arrange still life objects and create an interesting composition.
5. Use proportion, scale, and hierarchy, within our work.
6. Draw object from life and not our imaginations.
