STarry night pumpkins
Kindergarten artists created a contour drawing of a pumpkin. A contour line is the outside linethat describes the form of the object. After the drawing was complete, students practiced mixing primary colors to make secondary colors. We mixed yellow and red to make orange for our pumpkins. We made green by mixing yellow and blue for our leaves and stems. Next we practiced cutting, but cutting out our leaves and pumpkins. Finally, we pasted our pumpkins to a black sheet of construction paper and drew a starry night-time Van Gogh inspired landscape with oil pastels. Since the moon and stars are shining down on our pumpkins, we used a white oil pastel to add highlights
