Second grade trophy fish project
Second grade artists created an imaginary trophy fish. First, we read an exaggerated fish tale. Students wrote their own exaggerated story about how they caught their imaginary fish. In the story, students had to include its name, type, weight, who they caught the fish with, and where the fish was caught. A trophy fish is usually the largest fish a fisherman has ever caught. Because the fisherman is so proud of their fish, they have it mounted and put display in their home. Students practiced drawing fish and then chose a theme for their fish. Student cut through two pieces of paper to make a backand a front to the fish. They glued the two pieces together and then stuffed the fish to make it 3D. Finally, students designed a background to mount their fish on.
